COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING MANAGER
Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organisation, without religious, political or governmental affiliation. Plan works at grass roots level with children, families and communities to bring about long term sustainable development. Child sponsorship is the basic foundation of the organisation.
Plan has been in Egypt for more than 30 years and it works in 6 governorates in Egypt committed to protect and promote child rights, implementing programs designed to enable communities to improve the lives of the most marginalised children by working with women, youth and civil society organisations.
Currently, Plan Egypt is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated professional with a broad range of skills, to fill the position of Communications and Marketing Manager.
He/she will be responsible for keeping a keen eye for a story, visual skills, highly creative and proactive. He/she will be looking to develop and build on your existing skills to help us through an exciting time of change and growth.
He/she will be implementing Plan Egypt Communications Strategy to ensure that Plan becomes one of the top 5 children NGOs in Egypt, through raising awareness using media relations, website, social media, newsletters, events and general publications.
As part of the role, he/she will have to develop the brand and improve the quality, impact and consistency of communications, and raise the profile of the organization with our key audiences, including government, media, corporate sector, other NGOs, communities and children and the general public. One of the key areas to manage and develop further will be media relations.
Establish and manage a strong relationship with the media and coordinate with media agencies to ensure that Plan Egypt is on different media channels on regular basis.
Implement and update the Communications Strategy on regular basis ensuring that it is aligned with Plan Egypt Country Strategic Plan and global communications priorities.
Manage all social media applications, including Facebook, Tweeter, Linked in and the website: including content management and follow up on conversations.
Coordinate the process of producing publications for different purposes and provide technical support including editing.
Provide writing and editing support for all our communications including all promotional materials, website content, a quarterly newsletter and annual report, human side stories, among others.
Coordinate and manage national events.
Degree in Communications or Journalism with more than 5 years experience.
Excellent personal, verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
Proven experience of working with media, PR and digital teams to produce effective marketing and communications campaigns and strategies.
Excellent media contacts and ability to build new contacts.
Experience of producing a range of marketing and communications materials for diverse audiences.
Excellent understanding of emerging technologies and the role they can play in PR – particularly social media.
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Strong computer skills, including experience of producing artwork using packages such as Publisher and Adobe Photoshop.
Ability to work as part of a team and to lead team initiatives with other staff.
Knowledge of, and interest in, international development issues.
